Anadolu University Faculty of Education organized a conference titled “Atatürk and Youth” within the scope of 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Erkan Dinç, Deputy Deans Prof. Dr. Handan Deveci and many academicians and students participated.
Prof. Dr. Erkan Dinç: "We are celebrating an important holiday that is Atatürk's gift to the youth"
Delivering the opening speech of the event, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Erkan Dinç mentioned the historical importance of May 19 and said: “Today, we are together to celebrate the 104th anniversary of Atatürk's arrival in Samsun to start the War of Independence. May 19 was the first step of an important process in which the foundations of independence and then the republic were laid. We wish you many happy holidays that we will celebrate the holiday of the youth again with our young people.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Volkan Marttin: “Atatürk attached great importance to youth”
Our Center Manager, Assoc. Dr. Volkan Marttin used the following expressions in his presentation that included Atatürk's memories: "Atatürk set out at a young age to ignite the spirit of national struggle in Anatolia and to start the liberation struggle. He cared a lot about the youth. So much so that he gifted May 19 to the young people he loved so much. I wish all of us a happy holiday this beautiful holiday.”
The event was ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Volkan Marttin by Dean Prof. Dr. Erkan Dinç.
